We're not generally that enthusiastic about posting appeals from TV journos to our users as we know you're probably way too busy to consider appearing in yet another reality television show.

But, this one seemed right up our street: we know as mums (that rock) you're already inventive, creative and constantly thinking outside of the box (whilst simultaneously juggling a gang of unruly children, a grumpy husband and a fledgling business to boot).  So here it is - a call to you all to do what you do best - invent a toy to keep your kids happy that's safe, legal and maybe even festined to be the next big thing at Hamleys.

So if you're an aspiring inventor with a big idea and you're looking for some great exposure both on TV and through access to a renowned retailer and manufacturer, then here you go:

Calling Amateur Inventors... 

The next must-have toy will be the winner of a brand new Channel 4
series.  With inside parent knowledge, do you have an idea for the toy of 2010?

What do Monopoly, Slinky and Barbie all have in common? They were all invented by amateurs.  Do you want to see your own toy invention on shop shelves? Inventors must impress a major toy retailer to take on one new winning toy.
