MumsRock in the press

16 March 2010

Alphamummy Timesonline

Following a survey published in the Guardian newspaper regarding the allegedly hostile working environment of the TV production industry, Mummy blog (Timesonline) Alphamummy asked our founder Gigi to write something about her experience of motherhood and working in TV.

Mummo Magazine

A magazine for mums, by mums is our kind of read (well okay, sometimes anyway) and we were of course pleased as punch to be included in their clever pages. So they ran our recent post on How to win the mum vote and wee profile of our gobby founder Gigi.

It had been a while seen we courted any controversy and then we had a bowl of soup on a cold day with a friend and started talking about the S word. The next thing we knew we were sending our thoughts over to Jen at AM and 50 comments later, another storm was brewing.

White House Correspondent Weekend Insider

Following our thrilling trip to the Downing Tweet Christmas Party we discovered that a wee video had been posted on this rather clever Politico's website in the States about it. One of the featured twitterati is MumsRock's very own Gigi who appears just before X Factor's Brian Friedman!

The Independent

Just one week shy of our first anniversary we're super-delighted with the news that we've hit the big time. In last Friday's groovy Independent came the news that MumsRock has made it into their countdown of The top Fifty Websites and Blogs for Parents. We've always said the Indie had extremely good taste. And it seems we were right :)

The Sun Online

As MumsRock geared up for it's very first tweet-a-thon (in aid of the fab Million Mums Campaign) our kind friends at the Sun helped out by spreading the word. The Million Mums Tweet-a-thon was launched in the best possible red-top taste.

The Guardian

When the Guardian launched the 10:10 initiative this year we were pleased as punch to throw our hats into the ring. Reduce our carbon footprint in 2010 by ten percent. Done! And how chuffed were we, when we saw they'd given us a mention in their follow-up article too. Now turn that light off and go share a bath!

That Liz Jones - she's a one. And when she indulged in a spot of mummy-baiting we knew we should resist. But we couldn't. Our polite retort entitled 'Will someone tell Liz Jones to shut up' was picked up on by our pals at Alphamummy and ended up being our most popular post for the next few weeks. Seems we weren't alone in our sentiments.
